Many dental insurance companies have begun to add an administrative fee to send us your claim payment in cheque form, resulting in increased costs for dental offices. We don’t want to increase your costs because of this fee.
Your dental plan is not intended to meet all of your oral health needs. Your dentist may suggest necessary care that isn’t covered. Know your plan. It’s your responsibility to be fully aware of what your plan covers. Dental insurance companies are increasingly shifting administrative costs onto your dental office. It may be necessary for your dental office to ask you to submit payment for dental care and then collect your benefits funds directly from the insurance company.
You can read more information on this on pamphlets provided by the Atlantic Canadian Dental Associations.
York Dental Clinic is a full time family-based Fredericton dental office providing all aspects of dentistry. Our practice offers personal attention, commitment to excellence and a no-nonsense approach to oral health. Our number one priority is your comfort and satisfaction. Your individual needs are always considered and your choices always respected.
We make it our mission to serve you quickly, efficiently and comfortably. All appointments are scheduled exclusively to accommodate your needs. We know your time is valuable so we strive to run on schedule.
Missed Appointments and Cancellation Policy
There are many times when our patients require urgent or emergency treatment and therefore require an appointment as soon as possible. When patients give the clinic advance notice of their need to cancel a scheduled appointment, this time can, in turn, be allocated to those patients in need of urgent treatment. In this way, we can best serve the needs of all patients.
If you are unable to attend your appointment, we require advance notice of two business days. For any appointments that are cancelled within two business days of the scheduled time, there will be a cancellation fee of $50*. In the event that no notice is given and you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, there will be a $75* missed appointment fee. *Exceptions may be made for illness, weather or personal tragedy.
Insurance and Payment Policy
At York Dental Clinic, our computerized system enables us to submit your insurance claims electronically, thereby providing your insurer with the information necessary to process your claim as quickly as possible. Not all insurers accept electronic claims therefore we ask you to confirm such
acceptance with your insurance company. Your insurance plan is a contract between you and your insurance company. It is your responsibility to know the details of your insurance policy and to pay for any procedures that are not covered. We ask that you keep us as up to date as possible on any changes to your address, telephone numbers and your dental insurance information. Dental clinics are not informed of changes to dental plans.
Payment of any patient portion is due upon completion of treatment. For major dental work (crowns, bridges, partial dentures etc.) we ask that you make a payment of 1⁄2 of your portion at the preparation appointment, and the final payment of your portion at the completion appointment. If the insurance company denies payment to the dental office directly, you will be notified and will be responsible for payment to the dental office. All balances are due within 30 days of treatment.
It is our policy to provide you with your bill; we encourage you to review and understand what treatments have been performed.
Emergency Care Policy
We take emergency dental care very seriously. If you require immediate care due to an accident or tooth pain, please let us know. We will make every effort to treat emergencies as quickly as possible.
