Wisdom teeth that are crooked, only partially erupted, or which are at risk of impacting your other teeth need to be extracted. The wisdom teeth usually begin to emerge around age 16 to 20. We’ll check your wisdom teeth when you come for regular examinations to see if they will need to be extracted.

How we extract wisdom teeth
Because they are usually covered with gum tissue at the time of extraction, your wisdom teeth are usually removed by surgery. We make incisions in your gums by each tooth and remove it through the incision, which is then closed with sutures. The procedure is performed under a general anesthetic, and because it involves multiple extractions we usually recommend sedation as well.
